Our Virtually Me programme is now complete and our Learning and Engagement team has thoroughly enjoyed delivering this new programme to SEND learners.

The workshops introduced learners to the basics of motion capture, an introduction to 3D modelling, basic animation and virtual reality. The purpose of the course is to encourage children to explore creative digital skills and introduce them to immersive technology.

We worked with a range of age groups, from SEND Socials Birmingham CIC and Year 11 and Sixth Form students at Oscott Manor School. They were introduced to digital skills using accessible software, and we’ve already received updates that many learners have continued developing their new skills at home!

We’ve received great feedback, which makes programmes like this so worthwhile when we learn that it’s made a difference. Feedback has included children gaining confidence each week, developing new abilities and most importantly, how accessible the sessions have been for SEND learners.

We look forward to future opportunities working with these organisations and schools.

Virtually Me is supported by All Age Autism, a project by Landau.
