Lost Monuments: A 360° Interactive Experience

Lost Monuments is an immersive 360° experience that brings to life Abingdon’s long-lost landmarks, from ancient gates to vanished statues, allowing audiences to explore the town’s hidden past through their phones, tablets, or browsers.

What We Did
– We created a visually rich interactive experience designed to engage local residents, schools, and tourists with Abingdon’s heritage in an accessible and memorable way. Our work included:
– Building a mobile-friendly 360° web experience accessible via browser
– Integrating interactive layers with historical facts, visualisations, and spatial audio
– Designing an intuitive interface that works seamlessly across devices
– Creating historically informed visualisations that reimagine lost monuments in their original settings
– The experience was designed to support the in-person exhibition, while also making the content widely accessible beyond the gallery walls.

Impact
Lost Monuments launched as part of an exhibition at Abingdon County Hall Museum and has since served as an educational and public engagement tool. The mobile-first design made it easy for audiences to explore heritage in their own time, from any location.
