We partnered with Oxygen Arts and Libraries Connected to bring their powerful exhibition Into the Light: Pioneers of Black British Ballet into virtual reality. The exhibition celebrates the rich legacy of Black British ballet dancers, tracing their contributions from the 1940s to the present day.
What We Did
Our goal was to create an immersive, interactive virtual experience that could travel and inspire. We delivered:
A detailed 3D model of the exhibition space
A motion-captured ballet performance using our Rokoko suit and green screen setup
Depth camera scanning for accurate body data
High-resolution 3D facial capture using the Einscan system
Real-time integration and interaction via Unity
The result was a virtual space that brought history, movement, and storytelling together in a format accessible across devices and locations.
Impact
The virtual exhibition launched as part of the touring exhibition running from October 2024 to November 2025, expanding access to this important cultural story. It offers audiences a new way to engage with dance, heritage, and Black British history in a format that blends technology and artistry.
