The Immersive Studio team have been really busy getting Brum AR ready for early access and we’re delighted that it’s just around the corner.

Now available on Android and iOS, Brum AR is ready to be downloaded. In keeping with Birmingham’s ‘Forward’ motto, we’re continually focusing on the future and we’re proud to have developed an experience which fuses augmented reality with real-time location tracking. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, the app will enable you to experience the city in a whole new way.

Brum AR is now released with its first layer focusing on the musical heritage of the city. Our city is the birthplace of legendary musicians and we worked with longtime BOM friend and music historian, Jez Collins to make sure we didn’t miss a beat. The prototype features over 20 points of interest venues and locations (and some famous faces!) – all ready to be explored!

We’re also excited to be part of Brum’s #100DaysofCreativity (find out more here), which celebrates the vibrant creativity that exists within our city. From Monday 12th August, we’ll have the app open for early access. Simply download Brum AR and discover the collision of technology and heritage on a self-guided walking tour. Explore the city on foot (starting from the Town Hall) and say hello to iconic figures hidden throughout the city!

We’re excited about the potential of Brum AR and the future possibilities of the app – think hospitality, art and architecture or even a Peaky Blinders theme! Before we begin developing the next layers, we need your help to spread the word, download, experience and share feedback. Thank you and enjoy exploring Brum!
