WORKSHOP

Planning and Managing XR Projects

As demand for immersive experiences grows, XR (Extended Reality) brings together technologies like Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) under one umbrella.

This workshop is designed for creatives and producers who want to turn ideas into deliverable and fundable immersive projects. Key areas covered include project scoping, essential tools, team structures and budgeting

WORKSHOP

Photogrammetry and 3D Scanning

Photogrammetry is the process of creating 3D digital objects from 2D images. It can be a fast and efficient way of digitising objects which can save hours of work modelling objects from scratch. Photogrammetry has countless applications in art, game design, museums and conservation as well as innumerable industrial applications.

Join us to learn how you can combine digital photography with free or open source software to start your journey in photogrammetry. Get hands-on with 3D scanning and learn how to apply that knowledge to real world objects for yourself or your business for use in Unity, Unreal Engine or WebXR.

WORKSHOP

AI-Assisted Content Creation

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming the way creative content is produced. From generating images and video to producing 3D assets, AI tools are opening new possibilities for artists, designers and storytellers.

This workshop introduces a range of accessible AI tools that can support your creative process. You’ll learn how to generate visual and video content, refine prompts for better outputs, and explore ethical considerations when using AI in the creative industries.

WORKSHOP

Metahuman Creation and Motion Capture

Creating lifelike digital characters has never been more accessible. Epic’s Metahuman Creator allows anyone to build high-quality avatars, and when combined with motion capture, these characters can be animated in real-time for games, XR, film and virtual production.

This workshop introduces the Metahuman platform and shows you how to bring your digital characters to life with motion capture tools and techniques that are affordable and beginner-friendly.

Note: BOM will provide laptops. However if using your own laptop, this requires an Epic Games Account.

WORKSHOP

Virtual Production Fundamentals

Virtual production blends real-time game engines with traditional film techniques to create powerful new storytelling tools. From LED walls to green screens, this technology is reshaping how films, performances and XR experiences are made.

This workshop demystifies the core concepts of virtual production and gives you hands-on experience using BOM’s setup, including camera tracking, lighting and scene management in Unreal Engine.
