Overview
The project assesses the use of VR scenarios as a learning technique alongside the use of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust’s simulation centre.
Working with BOM and social care employers, T Level students studying at Calderdale College were taught how to develop, build and test a VR scenario, then had the opportunity to test the scenarios at the simulation centre.
VR scenarios are widely used across the healthcare sector to train workers using industry-standard experiences, testing their knowledge and skills ready for gaining qualified status. Calderdale College is one of the first to explore the use of technology within the social care sector.
Key Objectives
- A VR experience which can be used in clinical healthcare training for social care students.
- Work alongside T Level students to help develop, build and test a VR scenario.
- Create a 3D model of the training space
- Easy to use and navigate
The Approach
- 3D modelling
- Created on Unity
The Results
We successfully developed a VR experience which was used by social care students at Calderdale College for clinical healthcare training.
