Rachel Henaghan

Rachel’s work stems from self survival methods she used subconsciously to protect her mental health whilst working in the emergency services. Hyper-vigilant and hyper-sensory, Rachel gathers personal data, looking for physiological changes in blue and green spaces in both the urban and rural. Combining these measurements with field recordings and creative non fiction writing, she uses light and sound to communicate distress and find soothing frequencies. She has a physical and visual fascination with water and its properties and she is working towards creating an immersive sound work which would  incorporate all of these elements.
