Katie Day

Katie is the Artistic Director of The Other Way Works, developing work where theatre meets new technologies with the aim of creating magical, immersive experiences. TOWW integrates games, technology and immersive experiences with site-specific performance. In this role she develops new concepts and directs the creative processes and productions.

Previous projects include: ‘A Moment of Madness’; developed in collaboration with (BOM Fellow) John Sear.

AfterlifeAfterlife is inspired by the 1998 Japanese film ‘After Life’ by Hirokazu Kore-eda, in which the recently departed are challenged to select just one memory of their whole life to bring with them into eternity.

Most recently Katie has been developing the project ‘a rainbow for Amala‘, an interactive story about climate grief for children.

Katie is also a (remote) resident of Watershed’s Pervasive Media Studio, a regular speaker at conferences and events, a visiting lecturer, and a producer of professional development programmes.
